Gore Tex North Face jackets are available in three levels of weather protection.
The Gore Tex Pro shell, found in the Kichatna and Sickline North Face jackets, has the most rugged construction. These durable, breathable North Face jackets are exceptionally waterproof and windproof for those long days in challenging weather conditions.
The Gore Tex Performance shell, with either two or three layer construction is perfect for skiing, cycling and mountaineering. The two layer system, found in the NFZ (No Fall Zone) and Mountain Light North Face jackets, provides a softer, lighter weight durable shield against rain, snow and sleet while the durable three-layer system in the North Face Apex Flex jackets is designed to endure more heavy duty use.
For those activities where weight and space matter, the Gore Tex Paclite shell is lightweight and compressible while still providing durable wind and water protection. The laminated nylon textiles with an “oil hating” polymer and carbon membrane allow sweat to evaporate and prohibits contaminants from body oils, cosmetics, sunscreen, salt water and insect repellant from damaging the waterproof qualities. This makes a Gore Tex Paclite North Face jacket, such as the Dryzzle rain jacket, the ideal choice for hiking, backpacking, cycling and running.
