Snowboard Jackets
A snowboard jacket needs to block snow, handle sweat, vent on park laps, and still look right at the lodge. Bob's stocks a lineup of snowboarding jackets from 686, Burton, and The North Face, with the waterproof ratings and insulation weights that matter for New England winters. Find your fit, then check out our snowboards and bindings to round out your setup.
Styles of Snowboarding Jackets:
However, like ski jackets, there are different types of snowboard jackets to choose from including hardshell, softshell and insulated. A hardshell or “shell” jacket is weather resistant to provide protection from the wind, snow or rain. This type of snowboard jacket is the most waterproof and breathable option. Keep in mind, though, that a shell jacket has no insulation, so additional layers will be needed on colder days. A softshell jacket is made up or stretchier and lighter material to provide more breathability, but will not be as resistant to the elements. An insulated jacket is essentially an all-in-one jacket for the coldest of days, as it comes with an outer layer lined with differing levels of insulation. The insulation used can be synthetic such as Primaloft, or natural source such as down.
