Dakine was started on Maui’s North Shore in 1979 by surfer Rob Kaplan. Dakine moved their main office to Hood River Oregon in 1986 and started to get approached by snowboarders who needed high quality products that could stand up to abuse of backcountry expeditions. The Dakine Heli Pro pack was first designed in 1986 for a snowboarder's heli Alaska trips and has continued to be a staple for adventurous riders. By 2005, mountain biking had become big in Hood River, and Dakine expanded their problem solving gear to suit that industry as well. Dakine backpacks and their collection of snowboard gear is created with quality, durability and an eye for solving the problems that outdoor athletes face out on the mountain.
Dakine backpacks have the versatility to go from mountain top to black top with dual purpose lap top and hydration sleeves, fleece lined goggle and sunglass pockets, large main compartments and smaller organizational pockets. Travel the world with Dakine luggage. The Dakine Split Roller gives you separation panels to sort your clothes and gear easily and the Dakine Status Roller can be expanded from carry-on size to a midsize luggage bag.
